Ok, so Steve Foley does not have the best past and he doesn’t shy away from having a few drinks,
He doesn’t have the best rap sheet,
But does that justify him being shot 3 times for a misdemeanor?
There are going to be a lot of questions that need to be answered whether the officer involved in the Steve Foley shooting was justified in his actions. I really feel that despite Steve Foley probably being impaired and too intoxicated to drive this situation could have been avoided.
Steve could have listened to the officer and the officer could have called for back up. If I am driving home and someone in a unmarked police car pulled up next to me there is no way that I am going to pull over at 3:30 in the morning.
Why didn’t the cop just wait for back up to arrive and take cover? Officer’s have the right in California to go into his property if they feel he was intoxicated.
I think the whole thing is a tragedy that could have been avoided and it will be very interesting to see how everything plays out with Steve Foley and Aaron Mansker, the officer that shot Steve 3 times.
I hope that he did not assume because he was African American driving a car that would be looked at as a possible gangster/ hoodlum type vehicle, “Old School Pontiac he restored with his father” that he would be an easy target and never imagined that this would get the media attention it has received.
Granted, Steve Foley is not an angel but I do not think that the officer was justified in his actions and I think that Foley being shot 3 times could have been avoided.
Please give me your opinion,
